The Contractor shall coordinate construction to ensure that Work is carried out in <br />such a manner as to conserve energy, water and materials. <br /> <br />4. Coordination of Existing Conditions: <br /> <br />a. The Contractor shall field verify all existing conditions and coordinate all Work to <br />be performed prior to commencing with construction. <br /> <br />b. Coordinate the selective demolition with Owner and other trades as required. <br />Items indicated for demolition shall be completely removed, hauled off site, and <br />disposed of properly at no additional cost to the Owner. <br /> <br />5. Progress Meetings: <br /> <br />a. Contractor shall schedule bi-weekly field coordination and progress meetings <br />with the Owner and Architect to: <br />1) Review overall progress schedule. <br />2) Review past two-week progress schedule. <br />3) Review two-week look-ahead schedule. <br />4) Discuss proposed changes and other important issues. <br />5) Prepare bi-weekly Progress Meeting minutes for distribution. <br /> <br />b. The times and dates of the bi-weekly meetings shall be arranged for the <br />convenience of the Owner’s representatives. <br /> <br />c. If required, subcontractors may be asked to attend weekly meetings. <br /> <br />6. Field Coordination: <br /> <br />a. Prior to installation of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler <br />systems, Contractor shall hold a coordination meeting to work out proper <br />locations and pathways for the systems to avoid conflicts. The meeting shall <br />include all interested parties, including all affected subcontractors, Owner’s <br />representative, and a representative of the Architect or Engineer. <br /> <br />b. If required, prepare and submit field coordination drawings that indicate <br />coordination with various installation entities including all, subcontractors, Owner <br />as follows: <br />1) Prepare at appropriate scales to show where conflicts are likely to occur <br />due to limited space and indicate suggested remedy. <br />2) Indicate areas of conflict and coordinate revisions by parties initiating <br />drawings until resolved. <br />3) Indicated sizes of materials and available space. <br />4) Include elevations and sections as required, drawn in sufficient detail, to <br />coordinate the Work. <br /> <br />c. Comply with requirements described in Section 01300 Submittals. <br /> <br />d. Preparation of coordination drawings is the responsibility of the Contractor or <br />subcontractor principally involved. <br />
