The charging stations say either
split phase 120/240 VAC or 3 phase 120/208 VAC.
Al: Boland Park and Veterans Memorial Park both have an existing 120/240 VAC
electrical cabinet. Pinhook Park will require the installation of a new 200 AMP, 120/240
VAC TESCO Service Pedestal in accordance with the City of South Bend Construction
Standards and Specifications, Section 6-2 Service Points.
Q2: Where is the communication gateway equipment to be located? Their installation
instructions say 8-10' high, not on a charging station, in a 12" x 12" x 4" PVC lockable junction
box & a max range of 160'. A 120 VAC outlet must also be installed for the equipment.
A2: The placement of the Communication Gateway will need to be placed in accordance
with the installation instructions and may be placed on an existing pole or cabinet if
available. If needed, the Communication Gateway may need to be installed on its own post.
The contractor will need to supply the materials needed to install the gateway.
Q3: What size are the bollards intended to be? Painted steel pipe, plastic bollard covers?
A3: Bollards shall be a 5' long, 4" diameter steel pipe. The bollard will have 3' exposed and
2' buried in concrete, and the pipe will be filled with concrete. The bollard shall be painted
to match the striping color.
Q4: On the Tesco, an additional clarification, we are assuming a 200 amp service. Please verify.
A4: 200 AMP; refer to Al.
Q5: For the pavement markings: On the striping item, are we to just painting the new green lines
over the existing lines? Are there any line removals required?
4
