S. Equal Em- <br />ployment Opportunity Commission and the U. S. Department of Housing <br />and Urban Development. The contracts provide the Commission with <br />financial assistance so that it can more effectively administer <br />the City's Human Rights Ordinance. The attached Ordinance will <br />enable the Commission to enforce the law prohibiting illegal dis- <br />crimination and develop programs designed to promote equal oppor- <br />tunity in employment and housing. <br />Your favorable consideration of this Ordinance is appreciated.
