• South Bend Redevelopment Authority
Regular Meeting -August 19, 1993.
3. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
a. continued...
Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski and unanunously carried,
the Authority approved the Agreement for Interior Design Services with IDS/B.
b. Authority approval requested for Addendum to Project Management Agreement dated
June 26. 1992 between the South Bend Redevelopment Authority and North American
Golf.
Mr. Riggs stated that Blackthorn Golf Course has entered the establishment phase-the
grass has been planted and needs to be taken care of while it gets established. We need
staff on site to maintain it. John Quickstead, the new superintendent at Blackthorn Golf
Course, is not familiar with establishment procedures, so North American Golf will
provide someone to assist him. This Addendum amends North American Golf's Project
Management Agreement to increase their establishment fees from $11,000 to $25,025.
The additional money will come from savings in the establishment costs. We feel that
this is a fair request and recommend approving it.
Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski and unanimously carried,
the Authority approved the Addendum to Project Management Agreement dated June 26,
1992 between the South Bend Redevelopment Authority and North American Golf.
c. Staff report on Disposition of Land in the Airoort Economic Development Area.
Mrs. Kolata noted that the Commission previously entered into a Lease Purchase
arrangement with Gainey Realty and Investments for land in the Toll Road Industrial
Park. This land is adjacent to land where Gainey is constructing a new office building
and a portion of the building sits on the land that is being lease-purchased .from the
Commission. Gainey would like to release the portion of land that the building sits on
from the lease purchase and buy it outright. This will enbable them to get permanent
fmancing for their building. Ms. Manier has been in contact with them and recommends
that the Authority sell a small portion of land to Gainey and the remainder continue
under the lease purchase arrangement. The next two items on the agenda are part of this
transaction. Item 3d. approves the sale of the land and item 3e. removes that portion of
the land from the Lease tied to the bond issue for the Airport project.
d. Authority approval requested for Resolution No 82 approving the Transfer of Real
Property to Gainey Realty and Investments Coro in the Airport Economic Development
Area.
-2-
