ORDINANCE NO. 7196 -83 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM FUND. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT It is beneficial for the City of South Bend to utilize a Volunteer Program within the various departments. Volunteers will provide additional expertise and efficiency where limited funds do not allow the city to acquire these services. A separate non - reverting fund is needed in order for the City to accept grants, and donations for the Volunteer Program, and to make expenditures for related costs of the program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That a non - reverting fund be established to be known as the Volunteer Program Fund. The fund may receive monies from grants, donations, or any other monies given to the City that may be used for volunteers. Monies may be expended from the fund for any costs related to or incidental to the use of volunteers by the City. SECTION II. Semi - annual Financial Report Required. (a) The Department of Administration and Finance shall submit to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, a financial state- ment of the affairs of this fund on a semi - annual basis, which statement shall show receipts for the period as well as expenditures. (b) The financial statements shall be filed with the City Clerk on December 31 and June 30 of each calendar year, and shall cover the period six (6) months prior to said dates. SECTION III. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, and approval by the Mayor.
