BILL NO. 33 -84 <br />Ordinance No. 7343 -84 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, <br />COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, (Chapter 21, Municipal Code), <br />(Lincolnway East, South Bend, St..Joseph County, Indiana). <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSES AND INTENT <br />TO ESTABLISH an Historic Preservation District, to be known as <br />the Lincolnway East'Historic District, with such uses as permitted in <br />Section2l -36.1 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, such District <br />having been recommended by the Historic Preservation Commission of South <br />Bend and St. Joseph County, for the purpose of preserving the architectural, <br />historical, and cultural significance and educational value of the described <br />area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana as follows: <br />SECTION I. Ordinance No. 4990 -68, as amended, which ordinance is <br />commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be <br />and the same hereby is amended in order that the zoning classification of the <br />following described real estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, <br />State of Indiana: <br />A parcel of land being a part of the West Half of the Northwest <br />Quarter of Section 9, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, Portage <br />Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana and being more particularly <br />described as follows: <br />Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot J of Leer's Survey, thence <br />Southeast along the South bank of the St. Joseph River to the <br />Northwest corner of William Rupel's First Addition, thence South <br />along the West boundary of William Rupel's First Addition, thence <br />Northwest along the South right -of -way line of the alley parallel <br />and just north of the Conrail Railroad Tracks to the point of <br />intersection with the Western boundary line of Lot BB of Leer's <br />Survey extended south to the south right -of -way line of said alley, <br />thence Northeast along the Western boundary of Lot BB across <br />Lincolnway East to and along the Western boundary of Lot J to the <br />Northwest corner of said Lot and the place of beginning. <br />Including but not limited to Lots 2 through 17, 33, 34, BB, J <br />through V; J.H. Kelsey's Sub of Lot 13 of Leer's Survey; Delmar C. <br />Leer's Sub of Lot 5 and part of W of Leer's Survey; Kinzie and Good's <br />Sub in Lot 1 of Jacob Leer's Sub; and the river lots across from <br />said properties. <br />
