City of South Bend <br />FOUR WINDS FIELD EXPANSION & RENOVATION <br />EARLY RELEASE 2: EXHIBIT 2 <br />Early Release 2: Exhibit 2 Page 6/27 <br />Assumptions and Clarifications <br />The following assumptions and clarifications apply to the Scope of Work included in this Early <br />Release Work. <br />1.The Scope of Work included in the Early Release Work is that described in the specifications <br />(Exhibit 3), drawings (Exhibit 4), and allowances (Exhibit 7), subject to the assumptions and <br />clarifications noted below. <br />2.The Scope of Work also includes the work of Bid Package 3-Riser Systems for the Upper <br />Decks Bid Event. The Upper Decks drawings and specifications are noted in Exhibits 3 & 4, <br />respectively of Early Release Work Authorization 1. This work of the Bid Package 3-Risers <br />Systems is described in section 01 12 00 Subcontracts Summary, included in those <br />specifications <br />3.A portion of the total Construction Manager Staffing and Other General Conditions costs <br />estimated for the entire project are included in this Early Release Work. The portion of these <br />costs allocated to this Early Release Work are not enough to support the Early Release Work <br />if it were an independent project. <br />4.No testing for, or demolition and removal of, Hazardous Materials is included, regardless of <br />notes regarding or allusions to the presence of Hazardous Materials in the Contract <br />Documents. A Hazardous Material is any substance or material identified now or in the future <br />as hazardous under any federal, state or local law or regulation, or any other substance or <br />material including mold, fungi, or bacteria which may be considered hazardous or otherwise <br />subject to statutory or regulatory requirement governing handling, disposal or clean-up. The <br />Construction Manager shall not be obligated to commence or continue work until any <br />Hazardous Material discovered at the project Worksite has been removed, rendered or <br />determined to be harmless by the Owner as certified by an independent testing laboratory <br />and approved by the appropriate government agency. <br />5.Costs or fees assessed by utility companies related to the project or required to complete <br />the work are not included in the Early Release Work. These costs or fees include, but are not <br />limited to, tap fees, impact fees, line installation charges, meter charges, inspection fees, <br />connection charges, etc. <br />6.Neither removal nor re-installation of existing furnishings and equipment are included in the <br />Early Release Work. These existing furnishings and equipment include, but are not limited to, <br />signage and artwork, banners, food and souvenir vendor carts, storage shelves and cribs, <br />tables, desks, chairs, projectors, televisions, computers, phones, and other technology <br />devices. <br />7.Commissioning of systems is not included in the Early Release Work. Start-up requirements <br />noted in the specifications are included.
