ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE MAYOR FOR CALENDAR YEARS 1985, 1986, 1987, AND 1988. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The Council is required by Indiana law to set the annual compensation of all elected City officers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL, as follows: SECTION I: The Mayor of the City of South Bend shall be paid from the General Fund the following annual salary for the following calendar years: 1985: $49,500 1986: $53,213 1987: $57,203 1988: $59,492 SECTION II: The City Clerk shall publish this ordinance twice in two (2) English language newspapers of general circula- tion published in this City, the first of which publications shall be at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of the final passage by the Common Council. SECTION III: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
