All rights reserved.

Engineering evaluation and analysis shall be performed, and a report prepared and delivered (PDF files,
as required) to include the following:

1. Geology of the site including geological surface features, a description of topography, drainage
conditions and surface vegetation.

2. Boring plan depicting the site characteristics as well as the boring locations.

3. Descriptions of field exploration and laboratory testing programs.

4. Boring logs and laboratory test results, including groundwater observations made during drilling
operations.

5. Estimated soil conditions and characteristics of the soil encountered in the borings and expected at
the various locations.

6. Recommended lateral earth pressures for the design of temporary or permanent retaining walls, as
required.

7. Soil related construction considerations, including fill specifications and excavation requirements.

8. Any potential problematic soil conditions that might be troublesome during construction.

9. Groundwater considerations and the need for groundwater control will be discussed, based on
groundwater conditions encountered and construction procedures proposed.

Items Specifically Not Included Under Geotechnical Services

· Recommendations for subgrade design for HMA overlay.
· Preparation of soil profile sheets.
· Construction oversight and testing.
· Construction materials testing and/or Inspection services.

Section 2: Topographic Survey

Objective
The scope of services includes all professional services required to complete a Topographic Design
Survey. The intent is to provide a detailed survey for the entire project limits. A full topographic survey will
be conducted at the following locations: along Elwood Avenue from 150 feet east of Anderson Avenue
approximately 950 feet to the intersection of Kessler Boulevard and Woodward Avenue; along Portage
Avenue 250 feet northerly and 400 feet southerly from the intersection of Elwood Avene and Portage
Avenue; and along Woodward Avenue from 50 feet south of W. Angela Boulevard approximated 450 feet
to the intersection of Kessler Boulevard and Woodward Avenue. . Cross-sections will be taken every 50
feet, right-of-way to right-of-way. The specific scope will include the following:

Activity
For adjacent parcels with a sidewalk, Hanson will assume the back of the sidewalk is the right-of-way line
unless evidence indicates otherwise. For parcels without a sidewalk, the last deed of record will be obtained
to determine the right-of-way.
· Locate all centerline monuments, section corners or property corners to determine the centerline
alignment and existing right-of-way.
· Use GPS and conventional radial survey methods to locate all section corners, property and
centerline monumentation. Horizontal datum shall be the Indiana Geospatial Coordinate System for
the subject project’s County from GPS observations using INDOT’s Continuously Operating
Reference System (InCORS).
