a <br />a <br />a <br />The subsequent release of such information by the person receiving it will be <br />permitted only in accordance with the terms of the employee's consent. <br />Em ployee Assistance Program <br />All employees subject to this Policy will be provided with educational <br />materials explaining the requirements of the regulations and our policies and <br />procedures for meeting them. ln addition, employees will be provided with <br />information concerning the effects of alcohol and controlled substances use <br />on an individual's health, work, and personal life; signs and symptoms of an <br />alcohol or a controlled substances problem (the driver's or a co-worker's); and <br />available methods of intervening when an alcohol or a controlled substances <br />problem is suspected, including confrontation, referral to any employee <br />assistance program and/or referral to management. <br />Copies of the above materials and this Policy will be distributed to each driver <br />prior to the start of alcohol and controlled substances testing required herein <br />and to each driver subsequently hired or transferred into a position requiring <br />the performance of a safety-sensitive function covered by this Policy. Each <br />driver who receives a copy of these materials will be required to sign a <br />statement certifying that he or she has received a copy of the same. Visu- <br />Sewer will retain the original of the signed certificate and will provide a copy <br />to the driver, if requested (APPENDIX D - ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF <br />RECEIPT AND REVIE\TV). We will also provide written notice to <br />representatives of employee organizations as to the availability of this <br />information, if applicable. <br />Supervisory Training <br />Any individual designated to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists <br />to require a covered employee to undergo a drug or alcohol test under this <br />Policy will be required to receive at least 60 minutes of training on alcohol <br />misuse and 60 minutes of training on controlled substance use. This training <br />will cover the physical, behavioral, speech and performance indicators of <br />probable alcohol misuse and use of controlled substances. <br />Referral, Evaluation And Treatment <br />Any employee who engages in conduct in violation of this Policy will be <br />provided with information about the resources available for evaluating and <br />resolving problems associated with the misuse of alcohol and use of <br />controlled substances, including the names, addresses, and telephone <br />numbers of substance abuse professionals and counseling and treatment <br />programs. <br />Any employee who engages in conduct prohibited by this Policy will be <br />required to undergo an evaluation by an appropriate substance abuse <br />professional, who will determine what, if any, assistance the employee may <br />need in resolving problems associated with alcohol misuse and controlled <br />44
