PROPOSED
CIPP Installation Outline - Construction Plan
Step -by -Step Installation Process
Step 1
Clean Line
➢ Run high pressure waterjetter through the line to remove any dirt, silt or other debris prior
to lining. Remove protruding laterals if necessary.
Step 2
Pre - CCTV Line
➢ Run Closed Circuit Camera through the entire length of the line to ensure there are no
obstructions that could impede the installation of the liner. Assess pipe, locate cracks and
holes, protruding laterals, and all live service connections.
Step 3
WetOut Tube
➢ Vacuum impregnation of the felt liner with thermo catalyst resin.
Step 4
Transport Tube
➢ Tube transported via Refrigerated Truck to keep the tube malleable prior to installation.
Step 5
Inversion of the Liner
➢ Inversion equipment set up over the manhole
➢ End of line is pulled from the truck and attached to the shooter.
➢ By use of Hydrostatic Pressure or Air Pressure, the liner is inverted in on itself (much like
pulling a sock inside -out) to conform to the interior of the existing line.
Step 6
Curing of the Liner
➢ Once line is completely inverted into the existing line, the shooter is connected to the boiler
truck to initiate the cure process.
➢ Hot Water or Steam is cycled through the line setting off the resin to start the cure process.
➢ Internal atmosphere of the liner is maintained, per specification, at the required
temperature and time to fully cure the tube, end result is a jointless pipe running the full
length of the line from manhole to manhole. Finished product has similar characteristics of
your typical PVC pipe.
Step 7
Cool down
➢ Once the liner has cured, water/air is cycled through for a specified cool downtime, to
ensure quality.
