AMERESCOd5
Green . Clean . Sustainable
ECM 10: Electric Tariff Optimization
Dollars 1 $28,918 1 $28,918
Overview of ECM
This measure included changing the Xcel Energy rate tariffs at Arvada Center, Arvada Water Treatment Plant, Indiana
Shops, and Ralston Water Treatment Plant to reduce electricity costs.
Arvada Center, Arvada Water Treatment Plant, and Indiana Shops had solar PV added under another ECM, which
allowed those sites to be switched to the PV tariff (SPVTOU).
Ralston Water Treatment Plant was moved off the low load factor tariff and placed on the standard tariff (SG), since the
facility's load factor was too high for the existing tariff to provide a financial benefit.
The table below lists the original and proposed tariffs associated with this ECM:
Location
Arvada Center
•Proposed
SG
No
SPVTOU
Arvada Water Treatment Plant
SG
No
SPVTOU
Indiana Shops
SG
No
SPVTOU
Ralston Water Treatment Plant
SGL
Yes
SG
Commissioning
Ameresco confirmed that the Xcel electricity accounts at the locations listed above were transitioned from the existing
electric tariffs to the proposed electric tariffs by obtaining recent utility invoices prior to project completion. A copy of
an actual invoice for each affected site is included in Appendix G.
Measurement & Verification
The M&V Plan for this ECM was based on Agreed Upon Savings. The savings for this measure are achieved upon
project acceptance.
City of Arvada, Colorado I Project #37213 1 M&V Report — Year 2 1 Page 23
