AMERESCO4
Green - Clean - Sustainable
Project ECMs
ECM 1: Envelope: Infiltration Upgrades
Overview of ECM
This measure included sealing the building envelope to reduce infiltration loads. Gaps that were identified during the
envelope audits were sealed. This included new weather-stripping, sealant, and sweeps for doors; sealing of window
frames; and sealing of roof/wall penetrations. The facilities that received building envelope infiltration upgrades were
Arvada Center, Arvada Water Treatment Plant, City Hall, City Hall Annex, Indiana Shops, Lake Arbor Clubhouse, Ralston
Water Treatment Plant, Streets Maintenance, West Wood Golf Maintenance, and Wastewater Operations.
Commissioning
After the installation of the ECM, commissioning activities were performed in accordance with Schedule Q of the EPC.
The commissioning process for this ECM included an installation review of the new sealants, weather stripping, and
door sweeps. A project closeout report was provided by the installing contractor that documented final quantities and
areas that received envelope improvements. In addition to listing the final quantity and area of envelope improvements
completed per building, post installation pictures were provided, and pre and post installation infrared imaging was
utilized to document the before and after effects of the ECM at City Hall and City Hall Annex. The infrared imaging for
this ECM can be seen in Appendix A.
Installation of the new weather-stripping, as well as all associated insulation and sealing, was inspected and found to
be acceptable by Ameresco's Construction Manager.
Measurement & Verification
The M&V Plan for this ECM was based on Agreed Upon Savings. The savings for this measure are achieved upon
project acceptance.
City of Arvada, Colorado I Project #37213 1 M&V Report — Year 2 1 Page 11
