1.07 Contractor Question: With the Apartments to the South, will contractor be able to keep '/z of the <br />road closed overnight, or maintain unrestricted access outside of construction operation hours? <br />A. Response: The contractor may be able to maintain full road closure with access to local traffic. <br />The contractor shall utilize proper signage and maintenance of traffic measures as approved by <br />the City. <br />1.08 Contractor Question: Are the 2 concrete drives able to be poured in whole pieces, or will the <br />contractor have to pour each in halves to allow access at all times? <br />A. Response: Contractor shall be allowed to pour the concrete drives in whole pieces with prior <br />coordination with synagogue. <br />1.09 It appears that the only trees needing to be removed will be the few which are located next to the <br />fire hydrant to be relocated. Can this be confirmed? <br />A. Response: The only trees that should be removed are within the area of the fire hydrant to be <br />relocated. If any other trees or tree root systems shall be severely impacted due to construction <br />activities, the contractor shall notify the City prior to any work or removal. <br />1.10 Would the City entertain replacing the two ground signs instead of resetting the existing due to <br />their existing age and condition? <br />A. Response: The plans have been updated for new signs and a line item added to the bid tab. <br />1.11 Synagogue Coordination: <br />A. The synagogue will be installing a wrought iron fence soon. The fence will likely be in place at <br />time of construction. The new fence will go up to their property line, but Rabbi Danziger of the <br />synagogue mentioned this would remain outside of the right of way. The contractor shall protect <br />the new fence in place. <br />B. The contractor will need to provide a temporary "Pedestrian Detour" and temporary markings. <br />The synagogue patrons do not drive from Friday evening and all day Saturday and therefore <br />walks to the synagogue on Saturdays. This temporary pedestrian detour will also need to <br />accommodate pedestrian traffic north to the bus stop at the corner of Donmoyer and High St. <br />PART 2 — PLAN CHANGES <br />2.01 PLAN SHEET 4 <br />1. REPLACE Sheet 4 with attached, revised SHEET 4 — PLAN AND PROFILE. Sign removal <br />has been updated to remove and replace. <br />2.02 PLAN SHEET 5 <br />1. REPLACE Sheet 6 with attached, revised SHEET 6 — CONSTRUCTION DETAILS. The <br />City of South Bend Standard Detail Combination Curb and Gutter, Stnd 2-33 has been added. <br />PART 3 — SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />3.01 SPECIAL PROVISION, BID PROPOSAL <br />1. REPLACE All previous Bid Tab and MWBE Goals pages with attached BID TAB and <br />GOALS document. Line items, item descriptions have been revised, and goals updated. <br />
