SECTION 4 – SANITARY <br />60 <br />4-3.10 SEWER SYSTEM STRUCTURE INSTALLATIONS <br />4-3.10 (a) PRE-CAST <br />1.) Pre-cast structure shall be placed on a six (6) inch foundation of compacted B-Borrow as shown <br />in Standard Drawings, unless directed otherwise. <br />2.) Installation of structure shall be plumb. <br />3.) Pipe connections shall be water tight. <br />4.) Provide flow channel and benching conforming to 327 IAC 3-6-16 and as shown in Standard <br />Drawings. <br />4-3.10 (b) CAST-IN-PLACE <br />1.) Cast-in-place structure shall be placed on a six (6) inch foundation of compacted B-Borrow. <br />2.) Reinforcing bars (steel bars, bending, placing, and finishing) shall be installed in conformance <br />with INDOT Standard Specifications Section 703. <br />3.) Concrete work (forming, ties, concrete mix, placement, curing, and testing) shall be installed <br />in conformance with INDOT Standard Specifications Section 702. <br />4.) Pipe connections shall be water tight. <br />5.) Provide flow channel and benching conforming to 327 IAC 3-6-16. <br />4-3.11 CURED IN PLACE PIPE (CIPP) <br />4-3.11 (a) NOTIFICATION AND PREPARATION <br />1.) All residents affected by CIPP activities shall be notified in writing at least twenty-four (24) <br />hours prior to any service disruption affecting their service connection. Maintenance of service <br />usage shall be provided throughout the duration of the project. <br />2.) Cleaning, video inspection and recording, and inspection of existing sewer shall be conducted <br />prior to installation of the CIPP. Remove all debris, solids, roots, and other deposits from <br />within the pipe that will interfere with the installation of the CIPP. Provide a dumpsite for such <br />debris removed during the cleaning operations. Any damage done to the sewer pipe during <br />cleaning or installation operations shall be the responsibility of the party performing such work. <br />3.) The City Engineer shall be notified of line obstructions, offset joints, collapsed pipe, or any <br />other condition that will prevent the insertion of the tube or significantly reduce the capacity <br />of the sewer. <br />4.) Protruding laterals or services (if found) shall be trimmed flush with the inside of the main <br />sewer wall prior to lining. Trimming shall not cause damage to the lateral or service beyond <br />the inside face of the main sewer. <br />5.) A maintenance of traffic plan shall be submitted to the City Engineer for review and approval <br />seventy-two (72) hours before the commencement of CIPP work.
