REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 8, 2003 that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted to send it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. Ms. Beth Leonard, Department of Community & Economic Development, 12th Floor, County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana, residing at 1820 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. Ms. Leonard advised that this bill will appropriate the dollars that the Department brings in under staff contracts. It is part of the overall budget that the Council approved in September and this is the appropriation phase. She noted that they have not added any dollars to their administration budget through this action. This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this bill, Councilmember Varner made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. BILL NO. 94 -03 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA APPROPRIATING $48,920 FROM FUND 210, THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STATE GRANT FUND, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ASSISTING IN THE SUPPORT OF THE DIVISION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT'S ADMINISTRATIVE BUDGET Councilmember King, Chairperson, Community and Economic Development Committee, reported that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted to send it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. Ms. Beth Leonard, Department of Community & Economic Development, 12th Floor, County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana, residing at 1820 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. Ms. Leonard advised that this bill is an appropriation for some funds through the State Grant Fund for the Department's administration. This was part of the budget that was prepared and submitted to the Council in September and this is the appropriation phase. Councilmember Kelly seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes.
