Talboom Deputy City Clerk <br /> REPORT FROM THE SUB-COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br /> To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: The sub-committee has inspected the <br /> minutes of the August 23, 2004 meetings of the Council and found them to be correct. <br /> Therefore, we recommend the same be approved. <br /> Members of the Sub-Committee on Minutes <br /> s/Karen L. White <br /> s/David Varner <br /> Councilmember Coleman made a motion that the minutes of the August 23, 2004, <br /> meeting of the Council be accepted and placed on file. Councilmember Kelly seconded <br /> the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3371-04 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> CONGRATULATING THE GIRLS EAST SIDE <br /> LITTLE LEAGUE TEAM WHO ARE THE 2004 <br /> JUNIOR LEAGUE WORLD CHAMPIONS <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud t <br /> acknowledge that a group of thirteen (13) and fourteen (14) year old girls from the East <br /> Side Little League girls softball team experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity this <br /> summer; <br /> WHEREAS, the Council acknowledges that on August 21, 2004, the East Side <br /> Little League girls softball team beat Lee County of Giddings, Texas at a game in <br /> Kirkland, Washington, and wrapped up a perfect Junior League World Series <br /> Championship; and <br /> WHEREAS, the East Side Little League girls softball team went 22-0 through all <br /> levels of tournament play this summer and outscored its rivals 43-4 at the World Series <br /> level which included representative teams from the United States, Europe, Canada, Asia <br /> and Latin America; and <br /> 1 <br /> — <br />
