CITY OF SOUTH BEND I OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br /> Citizen Member Kane-Aye <br /> Substitute bill was adopted, five(5) aye. <br /> Erik Glavich, Director of Growth and Opportunity, l4th floor of the City-County Building gave <br /> a presentation concerning Bill No. 24-01 Revisiting a tax abatement approves by Council in <br /> 2023. This resolution is to correct a Scrivener's Error made in Resolution No. 5031-23 made <br /> August 28, 2023, and in Resolution No. 5031-23 made June 26, 2023. In speaking with the <br /> Legal Department, the solution found was to present a substitute bill. The tax abatement was <br /> approved by Council in July; however, it incorrectly did not include all of the parcels that <br /> should have been included in the abatement. In August, to resolve the oversight Council <br /> considered and adopted a Scrivener's Error that added in those parcels; however the bill was <br /> given the same number as its predecessor. This Scrivener's Error resolves the August bill's <br /> error. <br /> The presented resolution is the carbon copy of the resolution that went in front of the Council <br /> in August. <br /> Chair Warner thanked Mr. Glavich for the narrative concerning Bill No. 24-61 Correcting <br /> Scrivener's Error and proceeded to open the floor to the Committee for questions. <br /> No Committee member had questions. <br /> Chair Warner opened the floor to members of the public for questions and comments. <br /> No members of the public had questions. Chair Warner opened the floor to members of the <br /> Committee for comments. <br /> Committee Member Lee thanked Mr. Glavich and expressed that the 1st District was eagerly <br /> anticipating this project. He also thanked the owner for his patience. <br /> Vice-Chair Tomas Morgan expressed regret at the number of times this has been delayed and <br /> thanked Mr. Glavich for catching the error. <br /> Chair Warner entertained a motion send Resolution No. 24-01 to full Council- <br /> Vice-Chair Tomas Morgan motioned to send Bill No. 24-01 to full Council with a favorable <br /> recommendation.
