A
11
SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
REGULAR MEETING
August 15, 2012 1308 County -City Building
10:30 a.m. 227 West Jefferson Boulevard
Presiding: Ray Thomas
South Bend, IN 46601
The August 15, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment Authority was called to order at
10:30 a.m. by its President, Ray Thomas. There was a quorum present.
1. ROLL CALL
Members Present: Mr. Ray Thomas, President
Mr. Jose Alvarez, Secretary
Member Absent: Ms. Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer, Vice President
Redevelopment Staff: Mr. Don Inks, Director of Economic Development
Mrs. Jenny Hullinger, Recording Secretary
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
a. Approval of the minutes of July 18, 2012
Upon a motion by Jose Alvarez, seconded by Ray Thomas, the Authority approved the
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 18, 2011.
3. NEW BUSINESS
a. Authority approval of Resolution No. 178 authorizing the Director of Economic
Development to approve and execute documents related to the Davita F. J. Nimtz
Parkway Minor and ratifying action.
Mr. Inks said Resolution No. 178 ratifies his signature for a replat in the
Blackthorn Corporate Office Park. The Authority owns this large piece of
property and we have an option agreement with Cressy and Everett to buy the
property in the area. Cressy has a buyer for about two acres of property and would
like to subdivide the site to accommodate this new user who would build a new
building for a Hematology company. Our department has looked at the site and
has no problem with taking two acres off of the lot. The other three lots would be
around five acres each. The lots on the other side of the street are already five
acres so taking two out of those wouldn't work well.
Mr. Inks signed the replat already in order to get it on the Area Plan Commission
agenda to move this along quickly. Their meeting is tomorrow and they agreed to
accept it subject to authorization from the Authority.
