<br />Version 9/29/2021 Page - 5 Public Works Quote <br />1. The Contractor shall verify the locations of all utilities by contacting Indiana811 by calling 811 (in <br />Indiana) or 1-800-382-5544 (outside of Indiana), or via www.indiana811.org, at least two (2) <br />working days, not counting Saturdays, Sundays or federal and state holidays before proceeding <br />with construction. It shall also be the Contractor’s responsibility to contact any other utility that is <br />not contacted by Indiana811 and verify the utility locations. <br />2. The Contractor shall be responsible for working with the other utilities, i.e., gas electric, telephone, <br />etc. in order to assure that all utilities that need to be replaced or relocated can be done with a <br />minimum disturbance to service. The Contractor shall also be responsible for coordinating <br />schedules with the various utilities such that they can proceed with their relocation work as <br />efficiently as possible. <br />3. If the odor of natural gas is detected in a work area at any time during the course of work, the <br />Contractor shall immediately notify NIPSCO at 1-800-634-3524. The Contractor shall also <br />immediately notify the residents of adjacent properties. The Contractor shall advise the residents <br />to evacuate their homes immediately if the odor is present within the dwelling. <br />4. Restoration of sprinkler systems damaged by the Contractor's operations shall be repaired by the <br />Contractor at no additional cost to the City or the Owner of the system. <br /> <br />XVI. DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions <br />1. Work to be performed shall include furnishing all labor, services, materials, insurance and <br />equipment to provide and install new valve coatings for the Northwest Elevated Storage Tank as <br />well as minor site improvements according to the intent of the plans and specifications. <br />2. The Contractor shall preserve and protect all surrounding property, structures, tenants, visitors and <br />their property from damage caused by the Contractor’s operations. <br />3. Miscellaneous Repair Items: <br />a. Coordinate replacement of the FAA Light Bulb on the top of the tank with the OWNER supplied <br />bulb. <br />b. Coordinate the repair or replacement of the valve vault’s broken hinge with the OWNER. <br /> <br />XVII. INSULATIVE PIPE COATINGS <br /> <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions <br />1. Weather: <br />a. Apply coating materials per manufacturer’s printed data sheet instructions. <br />b. Prepare surfaces and apply and cure coatings within air and surface temperature ranges in <br />accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. <br />c. Refer to specific product data sheets for minimum surface temperature requirements. <br />d. Prepare surfaces and apply and cure coatings within relative humidity range in accordance <br />with manufacturer’s instructions. <br />e. Do not prepare surfaces or apply coatings in rain, snow, fog, or mist. <br />f. The CONTRACTOR shall provide ventilation during the coating evaporation stage in confined <br />or enclosed areas in accordance with ANSI/AWWA D102-03. <br />2. The CONTRACTOR shall comply with all regulations as established by the Occupational Safety <br />and Health Act (OSHA) and other government authorities have jurisdiction over such activities. Up <br />to date Material Safety Data Sheets shall be available on site for all products stored or in use. It <br />shall be the CONTRACTOR’s responsibility to adequately protect, shield or cover all structure, <br />machinery, equipment and openings as required preventing damage or contamination from the <br />work procedures. The work area shall be kept clean at all times. <br />3. Products: <br />a. All materials delivered to the job site shall be in original, sealed and labeled containers of the <br />protective coating manufacturer. <br />b. Products for each specified system shall be of a single manufacturer. Only one manufacturer <br />shall be used on the tank project. <br />c. Manufacturers: <br />(i) Tnemec Company Incorporated (Tnemec). <br />(ii) Sherwin Williams.
