His experience will allow him to identify project issues before they become problems and communicate timely recommendations for cost- effective solutions. Owen will keep all stakeholders informed of any project impacts to ensure the project stays on schedule and completed to the City’s vision. UNIQUE PROJECT EXPERIENCE BRIDGE NO. 7, STARKE COUNTY, INDIANA Project Manager: This federal aid bridge was completed in early fall of 2023. The existing three-span box beam bridge was replaced with a two-span prestressed concrete I-Beam structure. Included in the bridge replacement was addition of a TS-1 bridge railing and approach guardrail. Approximately 200 feet of total roadway reconstructed and widened up to the new bridge with new reinforced concrete approach slabs. Class I riprap was placed at each endbent slope for scour protection. CITY OF LAPORTE SIGNALS, LAPORTE, INDIANA Project Manager: Owen recently completed the city of LaPorte Emergency Preemption Signals project. The project consisted of updating/installing emergency vehicle confirmation lights at 26 intersections around the city. Each intersection was also updated with mast mounted GPS radio units, enabling each intersection to communicate with one another to dramatically improve the traffic flow for a major throughfare in the areas on and around US 35/Indiana Avenue and SR2/East Lincolnway. BRIDGE NO. 192, BOONE COUNTY, INDIANA Project Manager: This federal aid bridge is currently under construction and scheduled to be complete in early spring of 2024. The existing single-span concrete girder bridge is being replaced with a single-span prestressed concrete bulb-tee-Beam structure. Included in the bridge replacement is the addition of concrete bridge railing and approach guardrail. There will be approximately 700 feet of total roadway reconstructed and widened up to the new bridge with new reinforced concrete approach slabs. The new structure roadway will be increased from 36 feet to 58 feet of clear roadway. Included in the project is approximately 200 feet of channel relocation with rip rap lines slopes to provide better flow and reduce erosion on the downstream side of the new bridge structure.
