Curb ramps and sidewalks
along various streets near Battell Elementary School were
upgraded per current ADA requirements. Several streets
within the project limits had very steep grades, which
required additional construction engineering and field
adjustments to be made. Besides coordinating with local
residents and businesses, additional coordination was
performed so the project would not interfere with school.
Tamarack Trail » North Liberty, Indiana
DLZ provided construction administration services to construct a new 4,600-foot asphalt trail from Quinn Road to Wabash
Avenue. The trail connects the North Liberty Community Center to the North Liberty Youth League Ballpark along the
abandoned railroad corridor (formerly Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa Railroad). Approximately 2,200 feet of woods were cleared
as part of the project. Construction of the project also included subgrade treatment, compacted aggregate, and seeding.
Coordination for the project included maintenance of traffic, staging of construction, construction schedule, and material
testing.
