Locate utilities within the project area using observed evidence along with the “Indiana
811” service. Locate underground utilities as marked by Indiana Underground Plant
Protection Service and/or by available utility maps.
9. Establish a horizontal datum of the INGCS St. Joseph County coordinate system by using
terrestrial traverse observations and GPS static observations incorporating the “INCORS”
network.
10. Establish a vertical datum of NAVD88 by using GPS static observations and a bench
level circuit.
11. Set horizontal control points and vertical benchmarks with references.
12. Provide utility contact list.
13. Provide an electronic CAD drawing containing one-foot contours, topographic survey
linework and surface model. CAD file shall be AutoCAD, Civil 3D format.
14. Provide Survey field book in PDF format.
A1.02 ALTERNATIVES ANALYSIS
1. Perform Alternatives Analysis for a new pedestrian bridge that will carry a Multi-Use
Path across the St. Joseph River at Marion Street to the East Bank Trail. It is anticipated
that the proposed bridge will be a stand-alone two-span pre-engineered, prefabricated
steel truss structure with a reinforced concrete deck on reinforced concrete substructure
units on a deep foundation consisting of driven piles. The structure will have a clear
roadway width of 12’-0” to 13’-0”. Some long truss spans require additional width for
stability.
• Prepare bridge and trail vertical profiles and horizontal alignments.
• Analyze ADA compliance within the alternatives.
• Analyze impacts to existing features and right of way.
• Analyze access considerations.
• Prepare up to three (3) alternatives exhibits.
