This appropriation completes <br /> the process started with the executive order issued in January of <br /> 1985. If you will recall, reductions in almost every City department <br /> were made in attempt to cut down fixed operating expenses. In turn, <br /> I am requesting that $350, 000 be appropriated to account 427. 0, motor <br /> equipment, in the Police Department budget, and $215,000 be <br /> appropriated to account 255.0, other materials, in the Bureau of <br /> Streets budget of the General Fund. <br /> The Police Department motor equipment money was used to <br /> replace the uniform division fleet earlier in 1985, and the other <br /> materials money in the Street Department is somewhat self explanatory <br /> as it was used to purchase paving materials throughout 1985. <br /> If you have any questions in this matter, please feel free to <br /> contact my office. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> la(A"A."- <br /> Michael L.
