2.2 BALL VALVES <br />A. Two inches (2") and smaller for domestic water shall have a bronze body with reinforced <br />Teflon seats and 316 stainless steel ball. All valves will have a minimum rating of 600 <br />psi WOG, cold non-shock. Valves shall comply with current edition of Federal <br />Specification WW-V-35 Type II Class 3. Apollo 70-100 or 70-200 series, Crane 9302, <br />Powell 4201T, Lunkenheimer 700-SP or Stockham S-216-BR-R-T. On insulated piping <br />systems provide extended neck type operators. <br />PART 3: EXECUTION <br />3.1 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install all valves in the open position, close only after system has been flushed, drained <br />and refilled. Foreign materials found imbedded in seating surfaces will require <br />installation of new trim or replacement with new valve at the Contractor's expense. <br />B. No valve shall be installed with its stem below the horizontal. Where indicated or <br />required for inaccessible overhead valves, furnish chain-operated handwheels, including <br />rustproof chain and chain guide. <br />C. Provide drain valves at all low points in piping systems. Valve shall be 3/4" hose bibb <br />type, 125 wsp. <br />END OF SECTION <br />15120 - 2
