Century Center Water Softener Replacement © Copyright, M/E Design Services <br />South Bend, Indiana September 5, 2023 <br /> <br /> <br />CONTRACT CLOSEOUT 01700-1 <br />SECTION 01700 CONTRACT CLOSEOUT <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. This section specifies administrative and procedural requirements for project closeout <br />including, but not limited to, inspection procedures, project record document submittal, <br />operating and maintenance manual submittal, submittal of warranties, final cleaning. <br /> <br />1.2 SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION <br /> <br />A. Preliminary: Before requesting inspection for certificate of Substantial Completion, <br />complete the following list. In the application for payment that coincides with the date <br />Substantial Completion is claimed, show 100% completion for the portion of the work <br />claimed as substantially complete. Include supporting documents for completion, as <br />indicated in these contract documents and a statement showing an accounting of changes <br />to the contract sum. If 100% completion cannot be shown, include a list of incomplete <br />items, the value of incomplete construction and reasons the work is not complete. Prior <br />to claiming Substantial Completion, all final testing, balancing, start-up and clean-up <br />procedures shall be complete. In addition, the Contractor shall provide the following <br />additional written documentation: <br /> <br />1. Provide all final submittals, including warranties, operating and maintenance <br />manuals, workmanship bonds, guarantees, final lien waivers, etc. as called for by <br />other sections of the Specifications. <br /> <br />2. Deliver tools, spare parts, spare materials, etc. to the Owner's designated storage <br />area. <br /> <br />3. Make changeover of locks to Owner's permanent lock system and transmit keys <br />to the Owner. <br /> <br />B. Inspection procedures: After receipt of the request for inspection, the Engineer and <br />Owner's Representatives will inspect the project site and operation of equipment and <br />systems. The above parties will advise the Contractor of deficiencies and unfulfilled <br />requirements. The Engineer or Owner's Representative will prepare the Certificate of <br />Substantial Completion following inspection or advise the Contractor of construction that <br />must be completed or corrected before the Certificate will be issued. This inspection will <br />be repeated after a request for re-inspection is made by the Contractor. The work <br />referenced in the Engineer's Inspection Report shall be completed prior to requesting <br />additional inspections. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
