All rights reserved. <br /> <br />This is EXHIBIT A, consisting of pages, referred to <br />in and part of the Agreement between Owner and <br />Engineer for Professional Services dated , . <br />Engineer’s Services <br /> <br />Article 1 of the Agreement is supplemented to include the following agreement of the parties. <br /> <br />Engineer shall provide Basic and Additional Services as set forth below. <br /> <br />PART 1 – BASIC SERVICES <br />A1.01 Design, Bid and Construction Phase Services <br />A. Engineer shall (standard text deleted and new text inserted): <br />The South Bend WWTP’s WAS Thickening and associated equipment was installed in the DAF <br />Building in 1988 and is operating beyond its useful service life. The focus of this project will be to <br />perform a process evaluation and make recommendations on modern WAS thickening <br />technologies to provide a cost-effective solution for the Owner to replace the aging equipment and <br />provide a consistent sludge. The improvements will be designed to re-utilize the existing DAF <br />Building. In addition, the Owner desires to replace aging mechanical equipment for the sludge <br />pumps and replace buried yard primary piping between the Compressor and Degrit Buildings. The <br />project will include development of two bid packages; Bid Package No. 1 for DAF Building Yard <br />Piping replacement utilizing the City’s Standard Bid Documents and Bid Package No. 2 for WAS <br />Thickening and DAF Building improvements in EJCDC Construction Document format. <br />Task 101 – Project Management and Administration <br />Engineer shall support the Owner by managing the project to coordinate work efforts of all design <br />disciplines, monitor the project budget and schedule and keep the Owner informed of project <br />progress and issues necessary for success of the project. The following activities will be <br />performed: <br />1. Project Meetings and Workshops <br /> Engineer will organize and attend project meetings and teleconferences with the Owner. <br />The project meetings will be held at the Wastewater Treatment Plant site in South Bend, <br />Indiana. The kickoff meeting will be held to discuss the goals and objectives of the project, <br />establish lines of communication, as well as gather the necessary data to begin the WAS <br />Thickening Improvements effort. A meeting will occur to review the WAS Thickening <br />Process Evaluation results and recommendations through a PowerPoint presentation. This <br />will determine the strategy going forward. Meetings will be held with the Owner to review <br />the deliverables and discuss any comments received after the 90-percent design deliverable <br />for Bid Package No. 1, and after the 50-percent and 90-percent design deliverables for Bid <br />Package No. 2. The duration of each meeting is anticipated to be up to four hours, and each <br />will be attended by the project manager and engineering manager.
