r <br />Multiple Guaranteed Savings Contract Community <br />Muncie Sanitary District Gmuncie <br />GSC WPCF Upgrades / Muncie, IN SANITARY DISTRICT <br />Project Size: $76,033,776 / July 2016 - June 2020 <br />Bowen, teaming with lead designer United Consulting, used a collaborative <br />approach on this GSC project to provide the Muncie Sanitary District with the <br />following upgrades: <br />G Installation of a Wet Weather Storage Basin and Pumping Station to <br />alleviate CSO events <br />G Installation of the initial phase of a large diameter sewer interceptor that will <br />eventually connect the Downtown combined sewers to the treatment plant <br />G Installation of a new WPCF Ultraviolet Effluent Disinfection System that is <br />more efficient and much safer to the public at -large than the existing gas <br />chlorination system <br />G Upgrading a portion of the Levee System that protects the WPCF <br />(D The Madison St. Underpass stormwater drainage <br />G New MSD Sanitation PEMB Facility <br />Project Challenges: <br />• Work in known contaminated soil areas (Metals, PCBs) <br />• Wet Weather Storage Basin dirt work scope was directly impacted by weather <br />conditions <br />Bowen Resourceful, Responsive, Results: <br />• Found major value engineering options to reroute plant flow at the new UV <br />Facility, saving both time and cost for the Owner <br />• Bowen conducted daily collaborative efforts with plant staff to conduct work <br />scope efficiently <br />• Ahead of schedule completion dates, returning significant savings to MSD <br />B EN <br />RESOURCEFUL.
