South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -June 25, 2008 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />B. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for professional design services in <br />the South Bend Central Development <br />Area. (Streetscape improvements, <br />northeast corner Jefferson & Main) <br />Ms. Laurent noted that staff solicited and <br />received a proposal from MPA Architects for <br />completion of preliminary design work for a <br />Streetscape improvement project at Jefferson <br />and Main. The fee is an amount not to <br />exceed $6,000, with the Commission's <br />portion being $3,000. $3,000 will be paid by <br />1St Source Bank. Staff recommends <br />approval. <br />Upon a motion by Dr. Varner, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />proposal and accepted the proposal from <br />MPA Architects for the scope of services and <br />fee proposed. <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Easement Agreement with Memorial <br />Health & Lifestyle Center. (to install <br />security fencing, top of wall on Leighton <br />Parking Garage) <br />Ms. Jennings noted that the Memorial Health <br />and Lifestyle Center has requested <br />permission to install an eight-foot chain link <br />fence on the roof of the Leighton Healthplex, <br />which will be connected to one wall of the <br />Leighton garage. The fence is for security <br />purposes. Engineering and Ampco <br />Management have inspected the area and <br />reviewed the specifications. They anticipate <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROPOSAL AND ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM <br />MPA ARCHITECTS FOR THE SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />AND FEE PROPOSED <br />36 <br />
