South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Rescheduled Regular Meeting -June 25, 2008
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearing
(1) continued...
district. We have not committed any money.
MS. COLLIER: This area that's going to be
included, where is it and what road or avenue
or street does it include? Or where does it go
north and south?
MS. JONES: Paul, just real quickly point it
out.
Mr. Phair showed the area on the map. The
area is west of the bypass, north of
Cleveland. Ms. Jones pointed out the
Studebaker Corridor area as well.
Ms. Collier said she was concerned about the
southwest and LaSalle Square. She
understood that LaSalle Square was already a
part of the area and would not be affected in
their allocations. She thought that by adding
more to the area that the significance was a
money issue. She was wondering if it was a
money issue, and it was acknowledged that it
was. She wondered if it was approved that
nothing was going to happen financially and
Ms. Jones said at this point nothing was
going to be given to it.
Ms. Collier asked if the City Council had
agreed to this and learned that it has. Ms.
Collier said they were here telling the
Commission that they don't want it and the
Commission still has to vote on it but nothing
is going to happen? Ms. Jones said that was
correct.
34
