Full width porch with classsical doric wood columns and balustrade. Double <br />hung windows in 1/1 confuiguration. East side bay has arch windows with moulded cornice. <br />ALTERATIONS: AA 2022-1104 allowed for the removal of a nblack walnut tree from the rear yard. COA 2013- <br />0529 allowed for basement walls to be replaced and enlarged, pour new concrete footigns for stairs and widen stair- <br />way. COA 2007-0621 allowed for replacement of front and rear storm doors. COA 2007-0601A allowed for removal <br />of rotting tree. COA 2007-0409 allowed for the removal of the non-original siding and reapir of clapboards and <br />mouldings. COA 2006-0518 allowed for removal of dead maple in front yard. COA 2005-0902A allowed for the <br />removal of dead maople tree in front yard. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: “The compressed wood material that was on our garage when we moved in at the end of 2021 has <br />deteriorated quickly. After consiulting with contractors, it’s not salvageable and should be replaced. We intend to replace the pressed wood <br />material with something that a vinyl that will both last longer and have more visual similarity to the wood siding on our house. The <br />siding on the garge will be completely replaced (and if some water damage from the deteriorating siding has crept through to the structure, <br />we;ll have that repaired as well).” <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The applicant has requested approval to: <br />Remove deteriorated partical board siding on garage and replace with Certainteed Double four Oxford blue vinyl <br />siding with rough sawn appearance. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: Chapin Park <br />Original exterior building materials in the district include brick, stucco, clapboard, wood shingles, and brick or <br />stone masonry. In some instances, vinyl, composite and aluminum siding have been applied over the original <br />material. <br />Required <br />Original exterior building materials shall be retained when possible. Deterioration of wood materials shall be <br />prevented through repair, cleaning and painting. The existing architectural detail around windows, porches, doors <br />and eaves shall be retained or replaced by replicas of the same design when deteriorated beyond repair. <br />Masonry, including brick and stucco structures, shall be maintained, and properly cleaned only when necessary to
