(d) This Section shall not apply to sworn police officers or <br /> firefighters. <br /> Section 2-120 ANNUAL VACATIONS FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES <br /> (a) All officers and employees of the City whose anniversary date falls <br /> on or before December 31, 1986, shall be subject to the following vacation <br /> schedule for 1987: <br /> Years of Service Working Days of Paid Vacations <br /> 1 but less than 5 10 <br /> 5 but less than 8 12 <br /> 8 but less than 16 15 <br /> 16 but less than 20 20 <br /> 20 but less than 25 26 <br /> 25 or more 28 <br /> Said officers and employees are entitled to the same total number of <br /> working days of paid vacation entitled to in 1987 for 1988 and 1989. <br /> (b) All new officers and employees hired as of January 1, 1987, or <br /> thereafter, shall be governed by the following vacation schedule: <br /> Years of Service Working Days of Paid Vacations <br /> 0 - 1 year 0 working days <br /> 1 - 2 years 5 working days <br /> 3 - 4 years 10 working days <br /> 5 -10 years 12 working days <br /> 11 -15 years 15 working days <br /> 16 -19 years 17 working days <br /> 20 -24 years 20 working days <br /> 25+ years 22 working days <br /> (c) "Working days" mean all days during which the officer or employee <br /> would normally be at work if not on vacation or sick leave, but shall not <br /> include legal holidays (except for officers or employees who would otherwise <br /> work on legal holidays) or regular days off. <br /> (d) "Paid vacation" means the officer or employee shall continue to <br /> receive his regular rate of pay during the time he or she is on vacation. <br /> (e) "Years of service" means uninterrupted employment with the City. <br /> All references to years indicate a complete year of employment upon the <br /> employee's anniversary date rather than fiscal years. <br /> (f) Vacation time is not cumulative, and any days of vacation not <br /> actually used during the calendar year in which they accrue shall be lost <br /> with no additional compensation paid to employees not using those lost <br /> vacation days. <br /> (g) This section shall not apply to sworn police officers and <br /> firefighters. <br /> Section 2-121. HOLIDAYS <br /> (a) Officers and employees shall receive seven and one-half (7 1/2) <br /> designated holidays as approved by the Board of Public Works and two (2) <br /> additional non-designated holidays. An officer or employee may choose to <br /> substitute these additional holidays for one (1) of the following <br /> non-designated holidays: <br /> Washington's Birthday <br /> T.inrnln'c Rirthrlav <br />
