Page 1 of 3 <br />EXHIBIT A <br />PROCEDURES FOR INSTALLATION OF <br />COMMUNITY WAYFINDING SIGNS (CWS) FOR ENTITIES <br />I.Definitions <br />a. Local attraction: Key civic, cultural and recreational attractions of local or regional <br />significance in the city. Typically, these attractions will have an annual attendance of <br />more than 10,000 but less than 150,000 people. <br />b.Traffic engineer: Authorized personnel in the City’s Engineering division who makes <br />decisions regarding traffic and signage in the public right-of-way. <br />II.In order to objectively and completely consider requests for CWS installation, for entities, <br />the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend sets forth the following procedures: <br />a.An entity interested in having a wayfinding sign in the public right of way, shall fill out <br />the CWS application available online on the City’s website. The application shall <br />generally include: <br />•Name of entity requesting sign(s) <br />•Name of contact person <br />•Contact information (address, phone, e-mail) <br />•Data for previous year detailing annual attraction attendance for requesting entity. <br />•New attractions may provide projections for annual attendance numbers. <br />•Requested locations for signs (final determination to be made by City Traffic <br />Engineer) <br />•Any other details deemed pertinent to the sign request <br />b.The City Traffic Engineer shall evaluate the request and determine the sign design, <br />location(s) and costs. The sign design shall follow the City standard as shown below:
