White at 3:30 p.m. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Coleman, Varner, Aranowski, Kelly, <br /> Pfeifer, Ujdak, Kirsits, White and King; John Byorni, Velma Boski, Larry Magliozzi, <br /> Kathy Baumgartner, Jon Hunt, Robert Hunt, John Oxian, Mary Singleton, Steve Olivi, <br /> Terry Lang, Greg Kil, Ed Talley, Don Fozo, Carl Littrell, Gary Gilot, Terry Bland of the <br /> t+outIj Ir* tbuiu and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br /> Council Member White noted that the members of the Committee included Council <br /> Members Ujdak, Varner, Coleman and herself. <br /> Council Member White noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 5-00 <br /> which is a rezoning request for the property located at 1601 Kemble Street. <br /> Mr. John Byorni, Assistant Director of Area Plan noted that the request received favorable <br /> recommendations from the staff and the Area Plan Commission. He added that there was <br /> one(1) person in opposition at the Area Plan Commission meeting. <br /> Kathy Baumgartner of Housing Development introduced Steve Olivi and Greg Kil to the <br /> Committee and noted that they are working on the project with her. She stated that the <br /> rezoning was necessary in order for her housing project to move forward. She stated that in <br /> light of the concerns raised by Mrs. Boski that the two (2) windows on the first floor <br /> would be glass block, that the bedrooms would be on the second floor, that they would do <br /> all snow removal and would request that residents park away from the alley. She <br /> suggested that perhaps a sign for Mrs. Boski's drive "Do Not Block" could be posted by <br /> the city. <br /> Velma Boski stated that she has lived in the area for 62 years. She stated that this is an <br /> older neighborhood where the homes are built too close to one another. <br /> Mary Singleton stated that Mrs. Boski does not drive and that she assists Mrs. Boski and is <br /> concerned about ingress and egress and blocking of the alley by the new tenants. <br /> Council Member Aranowski stated that the Housing Development Corporation board has a <br /> good track record. He stated that he will make sure that they live up to their commitments <br /> with regard to landscaping and being a good neighbor. He noted that Rum Village <br /> Neighborhood Association is in favor of the rezoning from its current "C" commercial <br /> status. <br /> • <br /> III <br />
