K■•• • <br /> COMM Wu sport: <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> to tht eommou COUItLil Of Us eiti Of *OU.t j 1Stntf: <br /> The February 14, 2000 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 3:45 p.m. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Council Members Pfeifer, King, Varner, Ujdak, Kelly, <br /> White, Aranowski, and Kirsits; Jack Dillon, Carl Littrell, Bob Case, Lee Cotton, Wayne <br /> Baney, Robert Palm, Terry Bland of thei0tttb *WO �ribunt, and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br /> Council Member Varner noted that the members of the Committee included Council <br /> Members King, Aranowski, Kirsits and himself as well as Citizen Member Khadijah <br /> Muhammad. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 7-00 which is a proposed vacation of two (2) sixty <br /> foot future roadway easements on lot 1 of Olive Road Commerce Park. <br /> Mr.Robert Palm made the presentation. He noted that the vacation is necessary in order to <br /> realign access to the area. The vacation involves vacated future roadway easements of a <br /> paper nature. He has agreed to file an amended replat. <br /> Mr. Wayne Baney a resident who received notice of the proposed vacation inquired <br /> whether his property would be affected, and Mr. Palm explained that the vacation is of <br /> paper future roadways only. <br /> Council Member Aranowski noted that the Board of Public Works sent the measure to the <br /> Council with a favorable recommendation with qualification (copies of February 14,2000 <br /> Board of Public Works documents attached). <br /> Mr. Bob Case noted that the petitioner has signed a new "Grant of Perpetual Easement for <br /> Future Roadway" which the petitioner has signed. He was advised by the Council <br /> Attorney to record this document so that the concern of the Board of Public Works would <br /> be satisfied. (copy of recorded document attached). <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Aranowski made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Kirsits that Bill No. 7-00 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 00-16 which is a lease for the property located at <br /> 504 North Johnson for the use of this location as a Neighborhood Partnership Center. Mr. <br /> Lee Cotton made the presentation. He noted that the effective date would be retroactive to <br /> August 1, 1999. In response to a question from the Council Attorney with regard to the <br /> delay in getting the lease to the Council for review, Mr. Cotton noted that the <br /> Administration had difficulty procuring the necessary fifty (50) taxpayer signatures <br /> required by state law. Mr. Cotton noted that the term of the lease would be one(1)year for <br /> a monthly rental amount of$350.00. <br />
