Volunteers <br />• For the purpose of this document the term "Volunteer" refers to all unpaid personal volunteers <br />are being used to assist with parade. <br />• Volunteers are to be prepared for all weather conditions and will be provided with this health <br />and safety plan and other relevant information for this event. <br />General Guidelines <br />All event volunteers to: <br />• Report hazards or incidents <br />• Observe and obey all warning signs/instructions <br />• Report all injuries <br />• Get first aid promptly <br />• Report all fires and emergency situations <br />• Only use equipment you are certified trained or have the skill to use <br />Crowd Control <br />Hazards <br />• Inappropriate event participant and/or spectator behavior (Police) <br />• Excessive consumption of Alcohol or illegal substances <br />• Crossing Roads <br />• Volunteer Staff to monitor crowd behavior and advise Board Members. <br />• Inform Board Members of inappropriate behavior or if a situation is imminent. <br />• Advise Event Coordinator if Police intervention is required. <br />• Contact Police if situation looks to escalate to violence. <br />• Where illegal substances are in use then the Police shall be contacted in all circumstances <br />without exception. <br />Traffic and Parking Issues <br />• Parking is available for event participants at the surrounding streets. <br />• Signage will be in place where road closure is in effect if needed. <br />
