1 <br />Zach Hurst <br />From:William Hentschel <whentschel@forumarchitectsllc.com> <br />Sent:Thursday, January 26, 2023 2:57 PM <br />To:Zach Hurst <br />Cc:info <br />Subject:RE: MarMain Roof - bids and award <br />AŌernoon Zach: <br />The Mar-Main roof only has seven (7) roof drains. <br />Durning our roof inspecƟons, all appeared to be in acceptable condiƟon except one locaƟon. <br />But unƟl they get into the roof replacement, it is unknow to what will be required at this one loca Ɵon. <br />At the other locaƟons some of the strainers may need to be reaƩached or replaced – but nothing major. <br />The biggest issue come up when the roofing system replacement work is being done. <br />To do the roof replacement, the clamp ring bolts need to be removed as part of the roofing system replacement. <br />With older roof drains there is the possible for the bolts to snap off – which then would require a replacement to the <br />roof drain. <br />That’s why in most cases the problem is unseen or undetectable unƟl you do the roof system replacement. <br />On the past 30 or 40 roof replacement projects we have encounter maybe one or two roof drains that needed <br />replacement. <br />But that is typically on a school roof project where we are doing mulƟple roofs areas for that school. <br />I think the biggest item that can possible show up maybe repairs to the masonry parapets. <br />You can’t really see those areas except at the caps which some do appear to require some minor joint repair work. <br />Let me know if you need anything else. <br />Thanks <br />William
