Qtommtttt Ztgort: <br /> Zoning and Annexation Committee <br /> 1r0 tilt common atouttutl of the £ttg of i6outb lava: <br /> The May 12, 1997 meeting of the Zoning and Annexation Committee was called to order at <br /> 4:15 p.m. in the Council informal meeting roomby John Broden Vice-Chairperson of the <br /> Zoning and Annexation Committee. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski, Pfeifer, Kelly, Broden, <br /> Varner, Ujdak, Coleman, Sniadecki; Don Inks, Sue Hodgson, Lee Cotton, Kurt Young, <br /> John Byorni, Mike Hardy, Terry Bland, Bernie Feeney, John Stantoci, Charles Hayes, <br /> Doug Carpenter,John Stark and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The first item on the agenda was to review Substitute Bill No. 12-97 which is a zoning <br /> request for the property located at the intersection of Fellows and Keasey street. Mr.Mike <br /> Hardy on behalf of Memorial Health Systems made the presentation. He stated that the <br /> rezoning would facilitate the construction of a multi-practice Medical Clinic. It would be <br /> similar to the Urban Care Facility. <br /> Mr. Byorni noted that both the Area Plan Staff and the Area Plan Commission recommends <br /> the proposed rezoning with a favorable recommendation. Mr.John Stark spoke in favor of <br /> the bill. Council Member Varner and Council Member Pfeifer spoke in favor of the <br /> proposed rezoning. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Hosinski made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Broden that substitute Bill No. 12-97 be recommended favorably to Council. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> Council Member Hosinski then chaired the remaining portion of the meeting. <br /> The Committee then reviewed substitute Bill No. 17-97 which is a zoning request for the <br /> property located on the 1600 block of North Maplewood street. Mr. John Byorni noted <br /> that the proposed rezoning received a favorable recommendation from both the Area Plan <br /> Staff and the Area Plan Commission. Mr. Charles Hayes made the presentation. He stated <br /> that the properties located within the airport 2010 development project. The rezoning <br /> would permit a radio communication shelters and related facilities to be located on the site. <br /> Council Member Hosinski noted that he spoke with John Schalloi and that the Airport <br /> Authority was in favor of the propose rezoning. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Broden made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Pfeifer that substitute Bill No. 17-97 be recommended favorably to Council. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed substitute Bill No. 18-97 which is a zoning request for the <br /> property located at 17924 State Road 23. <br />
