The results of the field exploration and laboratory tests will be utilized in the engineering <br />analyses in formulation of the preliminary recommendations and will be presented in a <br />written report signed by a registered professional engineer. <br />A1.05 Limited Drainage Study <br />A. Drainage Study of the existing underground detention on the Park property to include the <br />following: <br />1. Determine existing drainage area and runoff coefficients. <br />2. Model the existing drainage to determine current storage volume requirements. <br />3. Compare volume requirements to the capacity of the existing system to determine if there <br />is excess capacity available. <br />4. Determine the proposed drainage areas and runoff coefficients. <br />5. Model the proposed site to determine the required storage volume. <br />6. If additional capacity is available in the existing underground detention system, determine <br />if it is adequate for the proposed storage requirements. <br />7. If the existing underground detention system does not have adequate storage available, <br />design of additional storage, either by expansion of the existing system or design of a <br />separate system, will be required. <br />8. Refer to Attachment A2 for limits of this study. <br />A1.06 Conceptual Planning Phase <br />A. The Conceptual Planning Phase scope of work will include the following: <br />1. Field Work – Review site conditions, including existing plant material, paving, splash pad, <br />baseball field, tennis courts, topography, utilities, buildings, and other site features. This <br />will also include a review of surrounding land uses and neighborhood context. <br />2. Base Map – Develop a working study area base map and site context map from which to <br />build concepts. <br />3. Programming <br />a. Engineer will meet with the City of South Bend and South Bend Venue and Parks <br />personnel. <br />b. Confirm preliminary Program and update document to reflect current building needs. <br />c. Identify building rooms and spaces including total assignable square foot and <br />anticipated gross square foot calculations.
