Zoning and Annexation Committee <br /> 1 1 August 25, 1997 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Dea Andrews noted that this project has been to the Common Council before in light of the <br /> alley vacation and tax abatement which were needed. She noted that this project would be a <br /> great asset to the neighborhood. <br /> Council Member Pfeifer noted that this is part two of the redevelopment of the entire <br /> neighborhood. She welcomed the project. <br /> Council President Kelly spoke in favor of this positive project. <br /> Council Member Hosinski questioned the ownership of the present site for the clinic and <br /> was advised that it is owned by South Bend Heritage and that they would be looking for a <br /> new tenant. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Pfeifer made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Varner that Bill No. 58-97 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 76-97 which is a zoning request for the property <br /> located at the northwest corner of Ironwood and Ireland and the east side of Ironwood. <br /> Jim Voll noted that this is an Area Plan initiated rezoning in light of the recent annexation. <br /> He showed a map of the area in question and reported that it comes favorably <br /> recommended to the Council. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Varner made a motion, seconded by Citizen <br /> member Doug Carpender that Bill NO. 76-97 be recommended favorably to Council.
