CITY OF SOUTH BEND HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />d. ELECTION <br />i. President <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by Joan Downs Krostenko, seconded by Sarah Hill, and unanimously <br />carried by vote the election will be held via acclimation instead of written ballot. <br />Joan Downs Krostenko nominates Sarah Andrews for president. Sarah Andrews <br />accepts the nomination. <br />Vote is held and by unanimous decision, Sarah Andrews is elected president. <br />ii. Vice President and Assistant Secretary <br />After due consideration, no action was taken at this time. <br />VI. OLD BUSINESS <br />VII. NEW BUSINESS <br />a. Sarah Andrews urges the Commission to have prepared for next month ideas for who they <br />want to be as the Historic Preservation Commission. What is their mission and vision? Honor <br />the past and the legacy but determine what they want to be moving forward. How do they <br />want to continue to be a positive force in the community, and make sure the right type of <br />outreach is occurring? Why was each individual drawn to the Commission? What are their <br />"passion" projects/sites? How can the Commission be more proactive instead of reactive and <br />not be seen as just punitive but as an educational resource? Possibly refocus the number of <br />committees and tailor the committees to best serve the community. <br />VIII. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS <br />a. Sites of Concern <br />i. City Cemetery <br />ii. Portage Manor <br />b. Common Council Appeal of COA 2022-0321 <br />c. How can the Commission share their knowledge on certain sites and topics? <br />IX.
