tommtttuu Z port <br /> ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE <br /> to tft Qommott touttsil of tbt it of 'outb tttb: <br /> The November 23, 1992 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to <br /> order by its Chairperson, Council Member Lee Slavinskas at 3:35 p.m. in the Council <br /> Informal Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Luecke, Coleman, Puzzello, Kelly <br /> Zakrzewski, Duda and Ladewski; Steve Cronin, Steve Rudisell, Richard Morgan, John <br /> Byorni, Charles Owen of Cole Associates, Joann Harper, Don Porter, Tom Mc Govern, <br /> Tom Lykowski, James B. Millsaps, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The first item on the agenda was to review substitute Bill No. 81-92 which is a zoning <br /> request for the northeast corner of East Jefferson Boulevard and Tuxedo Street. <br /> Mr. Byroni noted that the Area Plan staff and the Area Plan Commission sends this Bill to <br /> the Council with favorable recommendations. <br /> Mr. Richard Morgan, attorney for the Petitioner, noted that the Swanson neighborhood <br /> organization is in favor of the proposed rezoning. Mr. Morgan noted that the rezoning <br /> would allow the expansion of the office building complex. Mr. Steve Cronin noted that the <br /> expansion was necessary for additional physician office space. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Puzzello made a motion seconded by <br /> Council Member Coleman, that Substitute Bill No. 81-92 be recommended favorably to <br /> Council. The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 88-92 which is a request to vacate the first north- <br /> south alley west of South Magnolia. Mr. Tom Lykowski, the Petitioner, noted that this <br /> alley had not been used for several years, that it has become overgrown, and that he has <br /> repeatedly removed sofas and waterheaters from the area. He is requesting the Vacation in <br /> order to enlarge his company known as Advanced Masonry Construction, Inc. The Board <br /> of Public Works recommends the Bill favorably with action being taken at its meeting of <br /> November 9th. <br /> Council Member Duda spoke in favor. Following further discussion Council Member <br /> Coleman made a motion, seconded by Council Member Puzzello, that Bill No. 88-92 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 91-92 which is a request to vacate an alley. Mr. <br /> James B. Millsaps, the Deacon of the Church, gave the presentation. Mr. Millsaps noted <br /> that the purpose of the Vacation was to provide parking space for the members and guests <br /> of Elizabeth Memorial Church of God and Christ located at 1246 Lincoinway West. It was <br /> noted that the Bill received a favorable recommendation from the Board of Public Works. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by <br /> Council Member Puzzello that Bill No. 91-92 be recommend favorably to Council. The <br /> motion passed. <br />
