in light of the mechanicals and the rest rooms located in <br /> the current facility that he did not desire to change the <br /> bay door area. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas stated that he saw this meeting as <br /> a fact-finding session and would be recommending that the <br /> bill be continued to the regular meeting of August 12. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Zakrzewski made <br /> a motion seconded by Council President Niezgodski that Bill <br /> No. 29-91 be continued to the August 12 meeting. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 41-91 which would <br /> establish a historic landmark for the property located at <br /> 609 Portage Avenue. <br /> Mr. Oxian the President of the Historic Preservation <br /> Commission noted that the building in question is ranked a <br /> "12". He stated that the former Mayor under the Progressive <br /> ticket in 1913 lived in the residence. Also the founder of <br /> the Whitcomb and Keller building lived at the residence. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that the building is located <br /> within his district and that he is very much in favor of the, <br /> proposed designation. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Luecke made a <br /> motion seconded by Council President Niezgodski that Bill <br /> No. 41-91 be recommended favorably to Council.
