w ^- MIIll mmIttrt &port Human Resources & Economic Development Committee Oa tide Comm alountil of tip 014 of ndll 11rnd: The November 26, 1990 meeting of the Human Resources & Economic Development Committee was called to order by it's Chairperson, Council Member Steve Luecke at 3 :45 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included Council Members Zakrzewski, Duda Coleman, Luecke, Niezgodski, Puzzello, and Slavinskas; Jon Hunt, Beth Leonard, Marsha Townsend, a member of the news media, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council Member Luecke noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 92-90 which would transfer $30, 000. 00 among various accounts within the Department of Economic Development. Elizabeth Leonard, the Director for Financial & Program Management, briefly outlined the Bill. She noted that $30, 000. 00 would be transferred from the FHA Lender Certification Project into the Emergency Repair Program. She noted that local lenders will be obtaining the certification, so it was no longer necessary for HDC to become certified as in FHA Lender. Following discussion, Council Member Slavinskas made a motion seconded by Council Member Duda, that Bill No. 92-90 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. Elizabeth Leonard then reviewed Bill No. 106-90 which would appropriate $2,741,479. 00 from the Community Development Block Grant Fund for the purpose of defraying expenses of the Department of Economic Development and designating the sub-grantee agencies for program year beginning January 1, 1991; Bill No. 107-90 which would appropriate $321, 187 . 00; and Bill No. 108-90 which would appropriate $53 , 464. 00 among • various accounts within the Department of Economic Development. She noted that all three Bills are part of the process with regard to the final statement, which was published earlier. It was also noted that the Council had received a substantial amount of information prior to this Committee meeting on the proposed final statement. In response to a question raised by Council Member Slavinskas, it was noted that the HUD money typically comes in in March. Elizabeth Leonard also noted that once the Block Grant amount is received, that she will be back to the Common Council with the final figures for approval.
