igniturttnn pnrt <br /> Zoning & Vacation Committee <br /> Oa the Mourn= Cowart! of Up (gag of Doug Etat <br /> The September 24, 1990 meeting of the Zoning & Vacation <br /> Committee was called to order by it's Chairperson, Council <br /> Member Lee Slavinskas at 4:05 PM in th Council Informal <br /> Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Slavinskas, <br /> Niezgodski, Luecke, Coleman, Voorde and Soderberg; Roger <br /> Nawrot, Bob Sante, Tom McCalley, Scott Keller, Katie <br /> Humphries, Jenny Pitts-Manier, Don Porter, and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas noted that the first item on the <br /> agenda was to review Bill No. 66-90 which is a Bill to <br /> vacate the first East-West alley south of Western Avenue in <br /> Martin's addition. <br /> Mr. Roger Nawrot of Cole Associates, Inc. noted that Mr. Tom <br /> McCalley is delayed in traffic in Kokomo and that he would <br /> give the presentation until Mr. McCalley arrived. He noted <br /> that the purpose of the proposed vacation is to allow <br /> parking. It was noted that there is no plan to close the <br /> alley, however this process is necessary since City <br /> Ordinance prohibits backing into an alley. Mr. Nawrot <br /> presented a topographical map showing the location. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas noted that the Vacation Petition <br /> received favorable recommendations from Area Plan, Economic <br /> Development, and the Board of Public Works. <br /> Mr. Bob Sante of the Area Plan Staff noted that an easement <br /> would be necessary to allow proper turning radius for <br /> vehicles. <br /> At this point, Mr. Tom McCalley of Briarwood Development <br /> Company, Inc. arrived and showed a preliminary site plan of <br /> the area in question. He noted that he had been in contact <br /> with the City Engineering Department to work out the <br /> easement language. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Neizgodski made <br /> a motion seconded by Council Member Colemen that Bill No. <br /> 66-90 be recommended favorably subject to an easement <br /> agreement being approved by the City Engineering Department. <br /> The motion passed. <br /> The next item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 74-90 <br /> which is a Bill to vacate the first East-West alley south of <br /> Jefferson Street in Barman's Subdivision. <br />
