It was noted that three to four gravel trucks would <br /> be involved, which would utilize Ireland and U.S. 31. <br /> It was noted by Council Member Luecke that the Petitioner <br /> meets the local requirements for a three (3) year Real <br /> Property Tax Abatement as well as the requirements for a <br /> five (5) year Personal Property Tax Abatement. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Voorde made a <br /> motion seconded by Council Member Slavinskas that Resolution <br /> Nos. 90-44 and 90-45 be recommended favorably to Council. <br /> The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Resolution No. 90-46 which is <br /> the three (3) year Real Property Tax Abatement request for <br /> Tech Centre Building. <br /> Hedy Robinson reviewed the report dated September 13, 1990. <br /> She noted that the Petitioner qualifies for a three (3) year <br /> Real Property Tax Abatement and that the Redevelopment <br /> Commission passed a Resolution approving the three year <br /> Abatement Request. <br /> Mr. Bill Panzica noted that with the Abatement Request <br /> Smithkline Beechan Animal Health Products, Inc. would be <br /> able to consolidate it's operations which are presently <br /> located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The South Bend location would <br /> be the main operation for the entire Midwest. The facility <br /> is involved with animal pharmaceuticals for Veterinarians. <br /> It was noted that the size of the building would be doubled <br /> for storage and capacity. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Voorde made a <br /> motion seconded by Council Member Slavinskas that Resolution <br /> No. 90-46 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that a presenter was not <br /> available for Resolution No. 90-47 which is a three (3) year <br /> Real Property Tax Abatement Request for the property located <br /> at 419 South Main. In light of this, the Resolution will be <br /> continued at the regular meeting to October 8, 1990. <br /> The Committe then heard a presentation by the Department of <br /> Economic Development on the Community Development Block <br /> Grant Fund. Beth Leonard reviewed the printout (copy <br /> attached) . She noted that the staff is projecting a 10% cut, <br /> however there has been discussion at the Federal level of <br />
