Version 6-8-2017 <br />22 <br />4.The CONSULTANT shall develop Signing and Pavement Marking Plans in accordance with the <br />Indiana Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, current edition. <br />a.The Signing and Pavement Marking Plans shall include re-striping Bendix Drive from Lathrop <br />Street to the north edge of Lincolnway West (Old US 20) to closely match the proposed <br />configuration being construction as part of this project. This will include a three-lane section <br />and a bike lane within the existing pavement width, from the south end of the proposed <br />reconstruction to Lincolnway West. <br />5.The CONSULTANT shall design a storm sewer network in accordance with the requirements of <br />the LPA’s design standards and the IDM. <br />a.Calculations will include pipe sizing, inlet spacing, hydraulic grade line calculations and gutter <br />spread calculations. <br />b.The LPA shall provide the outfall location for the proposed storm sewer network. <br />6.The CONSULTANT shall prepare Erosion Control Plans in coordination with preparation of the <br />Construction Stormwater General Permit. The plans will include temporary and permanent erosion <br />control measures for the project. <br />7.The CONSULTANT shall prepare plans for ADA compliant curb ramps and crosswalks at the <br />intersections of Lathrop Street & Bendix Drive and Voorde Drive & Bendix Drive. It is anticipated <br />that pedestrian crossings will only be provided in the north/south direction at the Bendix <br />Drive/Lathrop Street intersection, across the east approach of Lathrop Street. <br />8.The CONSULTANT shall prepare landscape and planting plans for both sides of Bendix Drive <br />within the project limits. <br />a.Prepare Planting Design Documents consisting of detailed construction drawings and technical <br />specifications for the Project Area. <br />b.Coordinate with City of South Bend Forester for plant species selection. <br />c.FAA Coordination for planting requirements and restrictions. <br />9.The CONSULTANT shall prepare and submit to INDOT plans, calculations, and supporting <br />documentation in accordance with the IDM Chapter 14 for the following design milestone <br />submissions: Stage 1 and Preliminary Field Check (PFC). Submissions of Stage 3 and Final <br />Tracings will be done under a supplemental agreement to this contract. <br />10.The CONSULTANT shall perform the services listed above to approximately 55% completion as <br />part of this agreement. It is anticipated that a supplemental agreement will be provided at a later <br />date to complete this task. <br />F.Water Main and Sanitary Sewer Design <br />The CONSULTANT shall prepare design plans that will include the replacement of approximately <br />4,100 feet of 12-inch water main and up to five lead service line replacements. <br />1.Bid items, quantities, and special provisions will be developed to meet INDOT bidding <br />requirements and pay items. Construction materials and design will be based on the LPA’s design <br />standards. <br />2.Survey and design of each lead service line replacement, from the right-of-way to the water meter, <br />is not included. <br />3.An integrated water quality approach for the community outreach is not included in this agreement. <br />4.It is anticipated that the design shall include minor improvements to the existing sanitary/combined <br />sewer manholes. Design of a new sanitary sewer system or rehabilitation of the existing combined <br />sewer system is not included in this Agreement. <br />5.The CONSULTANT shall perform the services listed above to approximately 40% completion as <br />part of this agreement. It is anticipated that a supplemental agreement will be provided at a later <br />date to complete this task.
