Version 6-8-2017
19
B.Topographic Field Survey
1.The CONSULTANT shall provide the topographic field survey required for preparation of design
plans in conformance with the requirements of the Indiana Department of Transportation Design
Manual, Part III, Location Surveys, a copy of which is on file with the CONSULTANT and same
is incorporated herein by reference and is made a part hereof. Necessary field survey to include:
a.Along Bendix Drive from approximately 400 feet south of Voorde Drive to 250 north of the
end of Bendix Drive Phase I, Designation Number 1400634, for a total length of approximately
4,360 feet in length. Width of topography to be 25 feet each side of existing roadway edge of
pavement, for a total width of approximately 100 feet. Within the limits of the NICTD railroad
tracks running along the east side of Bendix drive the width of topography to be a minimum of
15 feet east of the centerline of the east tracks.
b.Along Voorde Drive from the centerline of Bendix Drive to 250’ west. Width of topography
to be 15 feet each side of existing roadway edge of pavement for a total width of approximately
80 feet.
c.Topography along NICTD Tracks from the centerline of Bendix Drive to 100 feet west, and
top of rail elevations for an additional 150 feet west of Bendix Drive. Width of topography to
be 20 feet on each side of centerline of NITCD tracks for a total width of approximately 40
feet.
d.Along Lathrop Street from 250 feet west to 250 feet east of the centerline of Bendix Drive for
a total length of 500 feet. Width of topography to be 15 feet each side of existing roadway edge
of pavement for a total width of approximately 80 feet.
e.Centerline spot elevations at 100-foot intervals will be taken along Bendix Drive from Keller
Street south to Lincolnway (2,300 feet)
f.Establish horizontal and vertical control throughout the project limits. Horizontal control will
be based on the Indiana Coordinate System of 1983, East (NAD83). Vertical control will be
based on the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88).
g.Locate and provide rim elevations for castings (manholes, catch basins and curb inlets) within
the project limits, including those just beyond the curb line.
h.Detail sanitary and storm structures to determine invert elevations, flow direction, type and size
of pipes.
i.Known subsurface utilities will be depicted based on the field survey of surface markings
provided by Indiana Underground Plant Protection Service.
j.Create topographic base map from the survey data.
k.Right of way/property lines based on available field investigation and recorded subdivision
plats, apparent right of way will be shown for any areas lying outside of a subdivision. Lot lines
will be depicted per the recorded subdivision plats or GIS information.
l.Alignments will be established along Bendix Drive from north of Lathrop Street to south of
Voorde Drive (total length of 4500 feet) and along Lathrop Street and Voorde Drive (total
length of 800 feet).
2.Right of Way Assessment Services:
a.The CONSULTANT will perform research of deed, subdivision plats and surveys to determine
the limits of the existing right of way (if any) for up to 20 parcels, consisting of approximately
33 Tax Id tracts.
b.During the appraisal stage, the CONSULTANT will provide one time staking of Right of Way
parcels.
