Qtnmmtfln Export Oki the Comm f!ouurtt of tip (Oita of bout rnd: ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE The March 28, 1988 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to order by its Chairman Councilman Lee Slavinskas at 5:20 p.m. in the Council informal meeting room. Persons in attendance included Councilmen: Luecke, Niezgodski, Soderberg, Puzzello, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, Coleman, Duda, and Voorde; John Oxion, Lynett Jentoft- Nilsen, JoAnn Harper, Jim Wensitz and Kathleen Cekanski- Farrand. Councilman Slavinskas noted that there were three items for the Committee to review namely Bill No. 11-88, 12-88, and 8- 88. Mr. John Oxion, Vice-President of the Historic Preservation Committee, then reviewed Bill Nos. 11-88 and 12-88. He noted that Bill No. 11-88 would designate the property located at 713 West LaSalle as an historic landmark. He noted that the structure is a Queen Ann style and is ranked a "12" . He also noted that the home was built by a carpenter in 1876. Mr. Oxion then review Bill No. 12-88 and noted that the Bill would designate the property located at 620 West LaSalle as an historic landmark. He noted that the structure is a cottage type and is ranked an "11" . This was also built by a carpenter in 1874. If the two Bills would be approved there would be a total of five historic landmarks on LaSalle. Councilman Slavinskas noted that both of the Bills received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission. Councilman Luecke noted that both structures are fine examples of historic landmarks and was advised that Mr. Brookins is the owner of the properties. Following further discussion Councilman Luecke made a motion seconded by Councilman Coleman that Bill Nos. 11-88 and 12-' 88 be recommended favorably to Council_. The motion passed. Councilman Slavinskas noted that the next item to review was Bill No. 8-88 which addresses the vacation procedures to be followed by the City of South Bend. He asked the City
