Qtnmmtfln Export <br /> Oki the Comm f!ouurtt of tip (Oita of bout rnd: <br /> ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE <br /> The March 28, 1988 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation <br /> Committee was called to order by its Chairman Councilman Lee <br /> Slavinskas at 5:20 p.m. in the Council informal meeting <br /> room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen: Luecke, <br /> Niezgodski, Soderberg, Puzzello, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, <br /> Coleman, Duda, and Voorde; John Oxion, Lynett Jentoft- <br /> Nilsen, JoAnn Harper, Jim Wensitz and Kathleen Cekanski- <br /> Farrand. <br /> Councilman Slavinskas noted that there were three items for <br /> the Committee to review namely Bill No. 11-88, 12-88, and 8- <br /> 88. <br /> Mr. John Oxion, Vice-President of the Historic Preservation <br /> Committee, then reviewed Bill Nos. 11-88 and 12-88. <br /> He noted that Bill No. 11-88 would designate the property <br /> located at 713 West LaSalle as an historic landmark. He <br /> noted that the structure is a Queen Ann style and is ranked <br /> a "12" . He also noted that the home was built by a <br /> carpenter in 1876. <br /> Mr. Oxion then review Bill No. 12-88 and noted that the Bill <br /> would designate the property located at 620 West LaSalle as <br /> an historic landmark. He noted that the structure is a <br /> cottage type and is ranked an "11" . This was also built by <br /> a carpenter in 1874. If the two Bills would be approved <br /> there would be a total of five historic landmarks on <br /> LaSalle. <br /> Councilman Slavinskas noted that both of the Bills received <br /> a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission. <br /> Councilman Luecke noted that both structures are fine <br /> examples of historic landmarks and was advised that Mr. <br /> Brookins is the owner of the properties. <br /> Following further discussion Councilman Luecke made a motion <br /> seconded by Councilman Coleman that Bill Nos. 11-88 and 12-' <br /> 88 be recommended favorably to Council_. The motion passed. <br /> Councilman Slavinskas noted that the next item to review was <br /> Bill No. 8-88 which addresses the vacation procedures to be <br /> followed by the City of South Bend.
