Minutes/Human Resources <br /> and Economic Development <br /> Committee <br /> May 26, 1987 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Beck made <br /> a motion, seconded by Councilman Taylor , that Bill No. 45-87 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> Eugenia Schwartz then reviewed Resolution No. 87-51 which <br /> would designate the South Bend central development area to be a <br /> blighted area for purposes of complying with the Tax Reform Act <br /> of 1986 and Resolution No. 87-52 which would designate the South <br /> Bend central development area to be blighted for purposes of <br /> complying with the Tax Reform Act for 1986. The first resolution <br /> would deal directly with the South Bend central development area <br /> and the second resolution would deal specifically with the <br /> Studebaker corridor development area. It was noted that there <br /> were certain findings of fact and findings of blight which were a <br /> technical requirement of the new Federal law which took effect . <br /> She further indicated that Mr. Jon Hunt would be presenting <br /> the resolutions at tonight ' s meeting of the Common Council . <br /> There being no further business to come before the <br /> Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 5 :05 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted , <br /> Councilman Eugenia Braboy , Chairman <br />
